The Quiverfull Problem???

Here is a post that I found so true in today's world. Nathaniel Darnell has graciously let me post this and his wonderful cartoon of today's society toward "Quiverfull" people.

Speaking of "movements" in culture and Christianity, there are has been some buzz recently around the web over what some are calling the "Quiverfull Movement." As the Duggar family has taken their story to television, the world has become more aware of the growing trend in some circles of evangelicalism to have large families. The reactions from the feminists, humanists, and liberals has been hateful, slanderous, and hypocritical. While they accuse these Christians of being "militant," they express their own war rallying cries to stop the fanatic Christians. One blogger wrote: "…Just another reason why I think people should be required to have a license to have children."[1]
Micro-managing marriages with the arm of the state to stop births, as done in Communist China [2], is the only hope these liberals can have to beat Christians at this contest (other than in the marketplace of ideas) because their own worldview prohibits them from "out-bearing" us.
However, how exciting it is to see many Christians returning to the teaching of the Word of God regarding child-bearing. The idea that children are a blessing from the Lord is expressed all throughout Scripture from the first baby born in history (See Genesis 4:1.) In contrast, barrenness throughout the Scriptures is viewed as a undesirable condition. (See, for example, Genesis 25:21; Genesis 29:31;I Samuel 1:1-20.)
Psalm 127:3-5 states:
"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."
This statement is not a call for political takeover by force, as some are falsely accusing Christians of believing, but an explanation of one way that Christians wage their spirtual warfare described in Ephesians 6:10-18. Interesting, this passage on spiritual warfare appears immediately after the Apostle addresses family relationships, the need for husbands to love and lead their wives, for wives to submit to their husbands, and for fathers to bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord in Ephesians 5:22-6:4.
In Luke 23:28-30, Jesus Christ warned of the sad day that would come when people would favor barrenness . "Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck."This condition has become prevalent around the world, which is why many scientists, historians, and anthropologists have begun to warn that the world is currently facing "a demographic winter."The political cartoon above is intended to simply illustrate the the foolishness, hate, and hypocrisy of the detractors to the "Quiverfull Movement."
