My Confession of Faith

Here is more of my Catechism with Proofs....
3. What do the Scriptures principally teach?

- The Scriptures principally teach what man is to believe concerning God and what duty God requires of man.

“Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 1:13

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep his commandments: for this the whole duty of man.”
Ecclesiastes 12:13

“He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with you God?
Micah 6:8

“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all you soul.”
Deuteronomy 10:12

4. What is God?

- He is spirit, Infinite, eternal and unchangeable. He is wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.

- Spirit
“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4:24

“Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
2 Corinthians 3:17

- Power
“He stirs up the sea with His power, and by His understanding He breaks up the storm. By His Spirit He adorned the heavens; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent. Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways, and how small a whisper we hear of Him! But the thunder of His power who can understand?”
Job 26:12-14

“Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.”
1 Chronicles 29:11

- Infinite

“Can you search out the deep things of God? Can you find out the limits of the Almighty?”
Job 11:7

“Behold, God is great, and we do not know Him; Nor can the number of His years be discovered.”
Job 36:26

- Eternal

“The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.”
Deuteronomy 33:27

“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”
1 Timothy 1:17

- Truth

“For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.”
Psalm 100:5

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:6

- Unchangeable

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”
James 1:17

“They will perish, but You will endure; Yes, they will all grow old like a garment; Like a cloak You will change them, and they will be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will have no end.”
Psalm 102:26-27

- Goodness

“So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.”
Mark 10:18

“Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!”
Psalm 107:31

- Holiness

“For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of His holiness.”
Hebrews 12:10

“Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness.”
Psalm 30:4

- Justice

“For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, and the peoples with equity.”
Psalm 98:9

“He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.”
Deuteronomy 32:4

- Wisdom

“O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions.”
Psalm 104:24

“that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Colossians 2:2-3
